2. How much does it cost to set up?
Most photographers buy a Marrutt MyBooks starter/evaluation kit, which includes Photobook cover, 20 sheets of double-sided matt inkjet paper 176gsm, and a free Photobook software download - all for £14.95 + VAT. No heat binder is required for this method, just a strong stapler (we bought our heavy-duty stapler from Staples for just over £10)
Having created a demo Photobook to show your prospective clients, many photographers then invest in a heat binder (from around £50 from Staples Model TB 250 code number 3890 70) or our own Unibind automatic binder, which then allows you to use the Marrutt Pro Photobook system, which uses a heat binding method. Your Photobook covers then cost only £7.95 + VAT each in either A4 landscape or 30 x 30cm:

4. I am an industrial and commercial photographer with around 40 regular clients – is it viable to get custom Portfolio covers gold blocked to create a personalised selling tool?
.....The professional gold blocking company we use, Aurora Foil Blocking (www.aurora-foil-blocking.co.uk) are happy to create a foil blocking die from your artwork, and foil block small quantities of photobook cover. The charge is obviously higher than our guide price of 50p each for a batch of 100 covers, but is certainly competitive, and their standard of work is impressive.
5. Why can’t we get the covers gold / silver blocked locally?
.....You can. Our advice is to show them a sample of the photobook cover, and satisfy yourself that your local foil blocker can produce the quality of work you require. Inspect samples of their work.
6. Why can’t Marrutt do the gold / silver blocking themselves?
.....Foil blocking is a highly specialised art, and can either finesse your photobook covers, or ruin them! We would not pretend to be expert foil blockers!

19. You mention a Photobook re-print label - can we get these from you?
.....Best to create these re-print labels yourself. These labels are the secret to the success of your Photobook. It is amazing how many people view your client's Photobook, most have an emotional connection with the images within. Many will be tempted to order either a straight re-print, or commission a photo project of their own. The label should be unobtrusive, but deliver a clear message, indicating who created it, contact info, re-print reference number, and also a link to your website, where you can complete the sales pitch. Make sure that the re-print label is indelible and permanent!
